Weekend spins
The usual spins will continue at the weekend. Saturday 27th December race training leaving from Woodies car park at 9 am. This is a steady, well structured spin. If you plan to race next season try your best to make it. Forecast is to be cold, windy and showery with highest temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees and the wind-direction will be north-westerly.
An alternative to this on Saturday is another mountain biking trip to BikePark Ireland, Fairymount farm. The park caters for every ability and we can testify that it is great craic after our last outing there!! If you don’t have a mountain bike don’t worry you can hire one at the park as well as all protective equipment. They provide excellent facilities. There is an uplift service to take you up the hill, so you can relax and save your energy to enjoy the downhill sections even more. There are 2 options if you wish to use this service, you can book online on their website for €35 which covers your entry to the park and as many uplifts as you like between 10am and 4pm or you can pay the entry fee of €5 and buy uplift tokens at the reception area and hand in the token to the driver when there is space on the truck. Each uplift token is €2.50 per trip and if you have any tokens left over simply bring them back to reception and they will refund their value. Also there is a bike wash area and a cafe on site to have a bite to eat for lunch or a warm cuppa so bring a few extra euro on the day in case you want to avail of this. For more information please click on the link provided above to their site. Looking forward to seeing you there 🙂
Sunday 28th of December, senior, intermediate, and leisure spin leaving from Moynans shop at 9am. It is always an enjoyable morning so we hope to see you all there again this weekend. The route for this weeks intermediate/leisure spin is: Nenagh – Toomevara – Moneygall – Cloughjordan – Borrisokane – Nenagh, 54k. Link to route on Strava:NTW Sunday Leisure Spin 28th Dec 14.
For the seniors suggestion would be: Nenagh – Toomevara – Moneygall – Cloughjordan – Borrisokane – Ballinderry – Puckane – Nenagh, 70k. This can be extended by heading from Borrisokane to Carrigahorig and then back to Ballinderry making it 78k or adding another small loop at the end. Link to route on Strava:NTW Sunday Senior Spin 28th Dec 14. All will roll together to Toomevara where the groups will split.
This will be a good spin to work off some of the indulgences we’ve all been succumbing to over the last few days… 😉 All are welcome. Forecast is for a cold and dry day but also clear and bright. Very frosty for the morning time, but the frost should clear by midday; however temperatures only reaching 3 to 6 degrees…
