Weekend spins
There are no excuses this weekend folks!! The weather forecast is promising us a lovely weekend ahead with Mothers Day falling on Sunday and St. Patricks Day next Tuesday it should be a great weekend!! Get out there and enjoy it…
Saturday:
We will have the usual race training spin on Saturday morning leaving from Woodies carpark at 9am. The route as normal will be decided on the morning.
Sunday:
Firstly the scheduled UL leisure spin has been postponed until Sunday week the 22nd of March due to Mothers day falling this Sunday 15th, but don’t panic!!, there will be a club spin leaving from Moynans at 9am as usual. As next Tuesday is St.Patrick’s Day we are going to have a special green themed spin in it’s honour. Just wear something green, attach a Paddy’s day hat to your helmet or even just tie something green to your bike (be careful now to make sure nothing will get tangled up in use… safety first!) to represent Paddy’s day it would be great and we can have our own little parade. 🙂 It’s all just a bit of fun so please do take part. We look forward to getting some nice photos so we want you all looking your best :). This weeks route (Link here) is Nenagh, Borrisokane, Cloughjordan, Moneygall and we will have a coffee (and cake!! 🙂 ) stop in the Obama plaza so bring a few euro along for this. We will then all spin back to Nenagh.  A total of 56km. The senior group as normal can add an extra loop at the end or head off on another trek after the coffee stop if they wish to do so.
For our Racers, if you are planning on taking part in Blarney this Sunday we wish you all the very best of luck! More details of this race on our upcoming open races page.
Tuesday – St. Patricks Day:
We are going to have another of our club trips to BikePark Ireland, Fairymount farm. The park caters for every ability and we can testify that it is great craic after our last outing there!! If you don’t have a mountain bike don’t worry you can hire one at the park as well as all protective equipment. They provide excellent facilities. There is an uplift service to take you up the hill, so you can relax and save your energy to enjoy the downhill sections even more. There are 2 options if you wish to use this service, you can book online on their website for €35 which covers your entry to the park and as many uplifts as you like between 10am and 4pm or you can pay the entry fee of €5 and buy uplift tokens at the reception area and hand in the token to the driver when there is space on the truck. Each uplift token is €2.50 per trip and if you have any tokens left over simply bring them back to reception and they will refund their value. Also there is a bike wash area and a cafe on site to have a bite to eat for lunch or a warm cuppa so bring a few extra euro on the day in case you want to avail of this.  For more information please click on the link provided above to their site. Looking forward to seeing you there 🙂
