THE MOUNTAINS CLASSIC

The Mountains Classic is the race for Thursday 20th June. The idea behind this race was to avail of as many of the hills around Nenagh as possible but as we now have riders who prefer longer races, the original route has been altered a little. The route will be Ballyphilip, turning right down by the Five Alley and with Mike Sheedy’s assistance, turn right and back to the bypass turning left up to Newtown and Portroe Hill. Passing through Ballina and on to Birdhill where the race will start just after the roundabout and will continue down the N7 taking a left turn at the Yellow Bridge and finishing on top of the Slate Quarries. The race distance has been measured and is 9 miles. Meeting place Moynan’s Shop – time 6.30pm.
