Sunday Lake spin time change / Bank Holiday Monday spin

Hi Folks,

Just to let everyone know that the start time for tomorrow’s club spin around the lake has changed from 9am to the earlier time of 8am.

Sunday: Usual spin leaving from Moynans bike shop at 8am. This week we are going to cycle around the lake in preparation for our upcoming Tour Of Lough Derg, which is on the 15th of May. This will also be beneficial for anyone who is also training for the clubs Mizen to Malin spin in August as we need to start ramping up the mileage now with only a little more than 3 months to go! We will have a coffee break on the way out of Portumna at the petrol station just over the far side of the bridge on the right hand side of the road. Bring a few euro with you on the day. Distance will be a little under 120km and for anyone struggling or under time pressure, they can return via Borrisokane, cutting off about 8km and a lot of climbing. Everyone can decide together which return route to take at the coffee stop.

Bank Holiday Monday club spin: We’re going to have another spin on Monday and we would really encourage anyone doing our Mizen 2 Malin event to get yourselves out to this as well as tomorrow’s lake spin. Time is really starting to tick by and there is only 3 months left to get yourselves ready for this! If you want to really enjoy the M2M event you need to get some good mileage into your legs in the next few months! For Monday’s spin we’ll stay away from the lake to change it up a bit and we’ll head from Moynan’s at 9am to Capparoe – Ballinahinch – Birdhill – O’Brien’s Bridge – Clonlara – turn right before crossing canal, towards Broadford – in Broadford take a right (R466) Bridgetown – Killaloe – Four sisters and Home along the old N7.

We also want to wish both Joseph’s of the Donnelly clan the very best for Monday’s Cycle Against Suicide event. A really great cause, very well done!
