RESULT OF 19.5 ml ROAD RACE

At last, the result of last weeks road race, which was over a course of 19.5 mls and was ridden in horrible wet, windy weather. The course was Dolla through Silvermines to the Limerick road then a left turn to Birdhill roundabout then all the way back to the Five Alley. The weather really was diabolical but there was still a fairly good sign-on of hardy souls. The fastest time on the night went to Pat Bergin with Eamon Hartnett and Liam Callaghan hot on his wheel! When times were adjusted Kevin Byrne claimed third, a great effort as he has had little chance to ride lately, while John Spillane took second on the same time as the winner, John O’Carroll, who is in flying form at present. Very well done to all those who turned out to ride – everyone deserved a prize!
Well done to all our riders too who took part in the Tour of the Burren on Saturday last – also ridden in wet and windy weather and to all the members of the Nenagh Triathlon Club who took part in “Hell of the West” in Kilkee on the same day and a special shout out for Shane Scully who took second place!

Eventual winner, John O'Carroll leads John Spillane (2) and Kevin Byrne (3) up the hill to the Limerick road.
