On Sunday, Paddy Rohan took to the roads of Carrick on Suir for the Tommy Sheehan Memorial A3 race. This was Paddy’s first race on his new bike which is proudly kitted out in the red, black and white of North Tipp Wheelers and he certainly did not disappoint finishing 12th in this 100km race. Well done Paddy!

Further north, I, (Julie White) lined out for the Mullingar Grand Prix on a rain soaked, windy two lap course which included a bizzare turnaround in the middle of the road and covered over 72km in total.

With the weather conditions and a strong field including reigning National Road Race Champion Melanie Spath, and Aqua Blue’s Fran Meehan, this was always going to be a tough race. In the end I somehow managed to break from the bunch with two other riders at the final roundabout and took 6th place in the sprint (and a nice glass trophy!) for my efforts.

Well done also to all the North Tipp Wheeler members who competed at the Hell of the West Triathlon in Kilkee on Saturday. Julie
