Race Results NTW J Moynan TT1 05/04/2018

Well our 2018 race season kicked off on Thursday evening last with the first race in the NTW J Moynan TT series, TT1. The weather was less than favourable for the evenings race as it was very windy, dull and bitterly cold but this didn’t stop a hardy bunch from turning out to give the race a try.  A TT (Time Trial) also known as “the race of truth” means that a person races themselves against the clock to see how fast they can cycle a set course and every TT after that they try to better their time without the help of a group of people to shelter them or work with them on the road. They have to brace the elements solo. They are great fun really… 🙂 Our TT course was the usual one starting from the Roundhill pub on to the Fivealley roundabout and finish at the Yellowbridge, a total distance of 16km. There were some great times set on the night despite the strong wind to contend with and congratulations to our joint winners on the night Michael Crowe and Luke Donnelly who took the honours on handicap.  Well done also to Eoin Woods who set the fastest flat time on the night. Big thanks to Conor for doing the timekeeping for us on short notice and thanks also to Vic for the great photographs of the evenings racing which you can see in the link here.
