NTW Road Race 1 results 12/04/2018

Good evening all,  We hope you are keeping well. So our NTW road race series has finally kicked off and we were extremely blessed with the weather on Thursday evening albeit a bit breezy and very dull, so that meant we needed to make sure that the race kicked off on time due to fading light, and start on time it did. We had three good groups on the road. Great to see such a good turnout for the first race of the season despite a few of our usual riders having to work or away on holidays. This weeks route was from the Fivealley Pub – Birdhill Roundabout – Left up the ramp to Applegreen roundabout – Birdhill roundabout – finish at the Fivealley pub, 32.2km.  All groups worked very good together on the night but group 4 powered on and managed to keep away from the chasing bunches and it was Luke Donnelly who took a fine win on the evening, with Dermot Kelly taking second place and John Foote taking the third spot on the podium. Congratulations Luke and very well done to everyone who raced on the evening it was great to see all your hard training paying off after the winter season. No race can be run without helpers and we have to say thanks to Willie Percy, Conor Hannon, and John Spillane for marshalling, thanks as usual to Jan for the timekeeping and thanks to Vic for taking the photos which you will be able to see on our website and Facebook page very soon and thanks also to Selina for the video of the race which you can watch below

We are looking forward to next week’s race already and to give you a heads up, it’s a very nice route… 🙂
