Martin OLoughlin Training. Sunday 2nd February

Details confirmed with Martin O’Loughlin for Sunday as follows:
Meeting at Thatched Cottage Ballycommon at 9.15 for 9.30 sharp departure.
(PleaseĀ  park cars across the road behind the shop).
Martin will give a brief outline about the route which is the new VNC A3 route (see map – route: Ballycommon – Portroe – Ballina – 4 Sisters – Old n7 – Coum – Portroe – Nenagh – Dolla – Templederry – Seanins – Toome – Nenagh – Ballycommon. This is approximately 100km.) He will explain how he plans to ride it on the day. As the route loops back to Nenagh, there is the option of doing the first bit if people just want to do that.

Lunch – Soup & Sambos, Tea/Coffee at the Thatch around 1-1.30pm
Afternoon Session – Martin will discuss the morning’s spin and will talk about what kind of training we should be doing in the coming months and supply us with a sample plan for same; what should we be eating while racing, andĀ  to briefly cover the area of dealing with time off the bike and how to mind yourself during periods of illness/injury etc.
