JOHN WINS SILVER FOR THE HILL CLIMB

John Caulfield, competing in Belfast in the World Police and Fire Games in cycling the over 70s category finished just 3 seconds behind the winner last night to claim the silver medal. This, the first of his three competitions was the 3/4 mile hill climb and unfortunately the weather was attrocious and all the riders were soaoked to the skin by the end. On Saturday, he takes part in the 18 mile road race and Sunday sees the 12 mile TT. After a brilliant start, the club wishes him the best of luck in his next two challenges.
