Club updates and spins
We hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday weekend and also enjoying the fantastic weather of late… A few bits to update you on that happened in the club over the past week.
Wednesday
Club NTW Championship TT and Munster TT champs practice run no.1
We had our club championship TT on Wednesday night last and some fantastic times were set on the night by everyone. When handicapped times were calculated it came to a 3 way tie for the win on points with Eoin Woods, Andy English and Joseph Donnelly taking the honours on the night. Massive congratulations to ye lads. Eoin Woods set a new course record on the evening with a time of 39.53 over the 30kms so that means seeing as he had the fastest time of the winners he retains and wins the Championship TT trophy for 2018. Well done Eoin.
Also on Wednesday we held the first practice run of the Munster championship TT course and some super times were set by everyone. We would like to give a special mention and thanks to everyone who travelled long distances from Waterford, Tralee, Clare, Cork and other ares to take part it was great to welcome you all out. You can see the full report on the evening in the attached link here
Huge well done to everyone who raced on the night, thanks for supporting. Thanks to all our timekeepers, helpers and Marshals, without you we couldn’t run our events successfully and safely. Thanks to Vic and Tracy as always for taking great pictures of the evening also and you can see them in the attached link here.
Saturday
John Foote and Eoin Woods travelled to Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath to take part in the Esker CC’s 26.5km TT. It was a rolling course and the lads did very well on the evening. Eoin took best unplaced A2 rider and John best unplaced A4 rider on the night. Fantastic going by both lads. very well done.
NTW Munster TT championship 2018
This is the big event that we have all been waiting for and it is finally upon us and all the months of hard work and organisation is coming together nicely. This is the clubs first time to host the Munster Time Trial Championships and we are looking forward to welcoming you all on the day. Our TT course is 30km in length over rolling roads and its an out and back course starting from Birdhill up to the Fivealley roundabout and finishing back in Birdhill. It’s a nice little tester!
For full details on the Munster Championship TT 2018 please click on the attached link here. Online registration is still open and we will also be taking registrations on the day. We need as many club members to come out to support this event as possible. We want as many members to ride the event as possible but we also need those of you not able to take part in the race itself to help out as marshals to make sure the event runs safely. You can come out and enjoy the event and cheer on the riders while you marshal, so please do help out here! See you all Saturday…
