Club updates

National Hill Climb Championships 2018

David Kyle National Masters 40 Hill Climb Champion 2018

David Kyle headed up to the north of the country at the weekend to take on the very tough National Hill Climb Championships that were hosted by Foyle cycling club. The race took place on the very steep Scalp Mountain in Co. Donegal.  A climb of 484 vertical meters in a distance of just under 6km. It looked very steep from the photos anyway. David completed the course in an incredible time of 20.47. Huge congratulations to you David on behalf of us all here in the club, mighty achievement and our second National Champion in the club. Unbelievable stuff…

Saturday training spin

Its the time of the year when the coffee breaks are really enjoyed.  The lads had a great spin on Saturday morning and a very nice looking coffee stop… 🙂

 

Sunday club spin

It’s great to see such big numbers turning out again for the club spins after the summer season and here’s to more nice winter morning spins and warm cups of coffee. 🙂 The weather held up great for the spin and the lads(and ladies) decided on keeping the route as flat as possible to help keep the group together on the morning. Although I don’t think we actually have any flat routes out of Nenagh, just levels of difficulty… 😉 They headed out towards Thurles and from there on to Templemore where they pulled in for a well timed coffee break and even a few buns with thanks to Eoin Woods which were quickly disposed of by the hungry mob 🙂 From there it was onwards to Roscrea and then back to Nenagh to finish off a great metric century spin. Well done everyone on what was a great morning out on the bikes!

Club night out

We will be having our annual club night out on Friday night the 12th of October in Una Powell’s pub, Summerhill. It’s a chance to really relax after the busy cycling season and enjoy a chat and one or two lemonades… 😉 Hope to see you all there to celebrate what a season we’re after having!! Ye all deserve it so come on out and enjoy a great night among friends.

AGM 

This years AGM takes place on Monday night the 22nd of October in the Dapp Inn, Nenagh at 8pm. This is every members chance to have their say on what the club does for the next year so please come along on the night, we need you all there.

 

Awards Night

This takes place on Saturday night the 10th of November in the Thatched Cottage Ballycommon. Full details to follow but mark the date in your diaries folks, it is always a great night!

 

 

Club Spins

Tuesday: club spin leaving from Moynans bike shop Nenagh at 6:15pm.

Thursday: club spin leaving from Moynans bike shop Nenagh at 6:15pm.

We would advise you all to bring along some high vis clothing and lights for the bikes as the evenings are really closing in. Be safe be seen! 

Saturday: Training spin leaving from Woodies carpark at 9am. 

Sunday: We will be supporting the Trip to Tipp annual cycle. This is always a great day out on the bikes so we would love to see as many members there to support as possible…
