Club updates

Autumn is finally here and the club racing has ended for another year. Thanks to everyone who has supported and helped out in any way with the races throughout the season. You can all relax now and enjoy some well deserved time off. The updates are short and sweet this week.

Some of our members who enjoyed an evening spin out to the Obama Plaza Wednesday and took the time to get a great photo with the new monument of Michelle and Barack Obama in Moneygall. Loving the pink helmet on Michelle. Well done all and thanks for sending us the picture.

Thursday Club Racing, The Flying Mile results

Thursday last seen the final race on the club calendar take place, which was the Flying Mile. It was a short TT of 1.6km and your aim was to go as fast as you can and cover the mile (1.6km) course in the shortest time possible. Our winner of the 2018 event was Andy English who set a super flat time of 2 minutes and 8 seconds which was the fastest on the night and also enough to give him the win after the handicaps were applied. This gives him the title of this years Flying Mile winner. Congrats Andy and well done to everyone out on the night. Thanks to Jan and Conor for time keeping.

Open Racing

The club is really producing fantastic results this year in the open racing scene which is just brilliant to see.

Women’s Cycling Ireland Intermediate League 2018

On Saturday last club member Claire Ni Reachtagain was racing in the final round of the inaugural Cycling Ireland women’s intermediate league in Corkagh Park. Claire has been putting in some stellar performances during the league and season and has achieved so much in her first year of cycling. Claire took the Sprint for 2nd narrowly ahead of Ewa Kuras (Galway Bay CC) and the result moved Claire up to 2nd Overall in the final League Standings which is fantastic. Super stuff out of you Claire and very well done on all your achievements to date. What a year for you. See below some great photos of Claire in action in the attached link.
