Club Updates

Table Quiz:
We held our annual Table Quiz last Friday night in The Dapp Inn, and firstly a big thank you to
those club members who came out to support it. We had 11 tables participating in the quiz on the
night and another table that was very kindly sponsored by a club member who could not make it.
Jan did a super job as quiz master, and we’d like to say a big thank you to Annette and Charlotte
Strachan who did the score keeping, and to Frank and Susan from the Dapp Inn for hosting our
event and looking after us on the night.
Special mention and sincere thanks to Pierce Finn in Ryan’s Chemist who donated first prize (and
for his continued and generous support), and to Ger Gavin of Ger Gavin’s Gift Ship, William Talbot
of Sherry Fitzgerald Talbot Real Estate, and Eoin Dillon of REA Eoin Dillon Real Estate who also
generously donated prizes.
A big thank you also to the other businesses and club members who very kindly donated spot
prizes. We had a great array and variety of excellent spot prizes, and therefore an extended spot
prize draw where there were many winners on the night!
Winners of the quiz were the Fitzhenry family (with Frank also winning the interval picture quiz),
and runners up were the brains trust of Eva Moynan, Liam O’Callaghan and Eoin Ryan. An
honourable mention to Brian Geaney and team who came third.
We had a few empty tables on the night which was a bit disappointing, but the funds raised will
greatly help in the running of the club for the coming season.

Club Spins:
Sunday Orange/Red Group club spin:
There were only a handful of brave souls who turned up on Sunday morning due to the inclement
weather. These hardy road warriors headed in to the railway tracks at Ahane on the old N7 and
back to Nenagh, wet and cold, for a 62km spin. Fortunately, they avoided to snow. Fair play
though lads, well done.

*** DATE FOR THE DIARY / SAVE THE DATE:
Again, to all club members, please offer your time to help out on the Open Race:
Our club will be running our Open Road Race on Sunday 24 th of March. This event was a major
success for the club last year and really put us in the spotlight as it was very well run, and we had
good numbers taking part. A huge amount of work goes into running an event like this, and a lot of
it goes on in the background in the weeks and months leading up to the day. We really need
every member of the club to do their best to help out on the day, and to support their fellow
club members who devote so much of their time into organizing the race. We are always in
need of marshals on the day in order to ensure the safe running of the event. So please, Save the
Date!
