Club updates

IMG_20141123_203543The club has organised a mountain bike morning on Sunday next the 30th of November at BikePark Ireland, Fairymount farm. We will meet at 9am at Fairymount farm. It is ideal to have such a varied selection of trails in one place and right on our doorstep and only a 25 minute drive from Nenagh. The park caters for every ability. If you don’t have a mountain bike don’t worry you can hire one at the park. They provide excellent facilities. There is an uplift service to take you up the hill, so you can save your energy and enjoy the downhill sections. All you have to do is buy your uplift tokens at the reception area and hand in the token to the driver when there is space on the truck. Each uplift token is €2.50 per trip and if you have any tokens left over simply bring them back to reception and they will refund their value. Also there is a bike wash area and a cafe on site to have a warm cuppa after your spin so bring a few extra euro on the day just in case. Entry to the park is €5.00. For more information please click on the link provided above.

The usual spins will continue at the weekend.  Saturday 29th November race training leaving from Woodies car-park at 9 am. This is a steady, well structured spin. If you plan to race next season try your best to make it on the day. Weather to be good on Saturday with some sunny spells and light winds, 10 to 12 degrees celsius.

Sunday 30th of November, senior, intermediate, and leisure spin leaving from Moynans shop at 9am. This is always a popular spin and has been increasing in numbers over the last number of weeks. It is always an enjoyable morning so we hope to see you all there again this weekend. Weather to be good, cloudy, light variable winds, 8 to 10 degrees celcius. The route for this weeks senior, intermediate, leisure spin is: Moynans – Portroe – Ballina – Birdhill – Return to Nenagh. Link to route on Strava with elevation data etc.:NTW Sunday Spin 30th Nov 14. This route can easily be extended with another loop from Birdhill for anyone who wishes.

Don’t forget a reminder of this years club Christmas dinner which is on the 13th of December.  As with previous years we are holding the dinner in the Thatched cottage, Ballycommon. We need to know if you are attending by the 9th of December. It is very important that all prize winners attend so they can be presented with their prizes on the night and be recognized for their efforts during the season.  Please contact Jan on 087 1374354 to confirm your attendance.
