Club Open Night & Updates

Club Open Night

We’ll be hosting a club open night on Monday 3rd of December in Moynan’s Bike Shop from 6pm. This will allow existing members to renew their membership, and we extend a warm welcome to anyone who would like to become a member of our club. On the night, prospective new members will be able to meet with club members and members of the committee, ask any questions you might have about cycling or our club, and get advice on the great selection of bikes and equipment on display. For any new members that join the club there will be no membership fee for their first year but you will need to purchase insurance with Cycling Ireland.

Club Membership fee: Adults €20 / Family €30.

Details of Cycling Ireland’s Membership Fees is available on the Cycling Ireland website.

Club News

Congratulations to Edvins Silovs who finished second in the Sean Stag Shield in Hollymount Co. Mayo last weekend. Pending confirmation from Cycling Ireland, we believe that Edvins may now have gained promotion to A3. This would be a fantastic achievement for Edvins and reward for all his hard work throughout the year. Edvins would join Dan in gaining promotion to A3, and we expect big things from these two lads next year.

Club Spins:

Saturday training spin

The Saturday morning group was down on numbers this week, but the lads still got out for a spin taking in Castleconnell via the N7, Bridgetown and Killaloe. The Saturday morning coffee this week was a stop at Kevin’s house above Ballina. No doubt this was a stop that was extra hard to drag themselves away from, but fair play to the lads they soldiered on, well fed, back to Nenagh.

Sunday club spins

It was a cold and foggy morning on Sunday and numbers were down, but there were still several club members who ventured out. Eoin and Joey did the lake, Cathy was out representing the leisure group (single handedly!), and there were 7 of the orange group out who did Daly’s Cross, O’Brien’s Bridge, Killaloe/Ballina and home via the N7. The hot shower at home was very welcome this morning.
