Wednesday

Bike for Life

We have completed week 6 of our BFL course and it is great to see the confidence building amongst the participants while out on the road.   This week we spoke about what to eat and drink before, during and after a cycle.   Again we split the participants into two groups, the first group completed a 37km spin and the second group did a 30 km spin, a fantastic achievement for both groups, you should all be very proud of how far you have come in 6 weeks, kudos!  We look forward to seeing you all next week for a longer spin.  Don’t forget to go for a couple of practice cycles during the week.

Thursday

On Thursday evening, we held road race number 5 on the race calender. We had another good turn out on the evening, the race organisers decided to throw in a few hills this week to shake things up a bit. The route was The Meat Factory, Borrisokane, Carrigahorig, Terryglass, Balinderry, Puckane with the finish on the Puckane Road just before Nenagh. We had three groups on the road, A bad shower of hailstones battered the groups as they were heading through Ardcroney which would not have helped them only making them cold but the sun again came back to dry the lads out and it stayed around for the rest of the race, congrats to Joey Donnelly on taking the win on the night and to Pat Carr who came home second and to Peter Moynan who completed the podium, Massive well done to everybody who raced on the night and we look foward to see ye all again on Thursday for more of the same. Thanks to Jan for doing sign on and the start and finish, to Conor and Mike for marshaling and to Vic and Tracy and to Selina for the fantastic pictures on the night.
