Club Notes / This weeks spins
With yet another week of poor weather, it was quiet last week in the club. Not much to report but there were the usual turbo training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evening and still were as popular as ever.
Saturday morning another turbo session was arranged as mother nature was yet again determined to put a halt to our road spin with strong wind and flooded roads from the torrential rain that fell the night before and on the morning itself.
Sunday as it turned out there was no club spin due to our club night out in Paddy Rohans pub the night before, which I must say everyone enjoyed, so I’m guessing everyone was having a little lie in… 🙂
Hopefully the weather will get a little kinder to us and allow us to get back into a routine with our club spins again soon.
Next week’s Club Training spins are as follows:
Tuesday:Â Club Turbo training session across from Nenagh Taekwondo in Streame from 7pm -8.30pm. The club has three spare turbo trainers if you would like to give the class a go. This will be a structured training session and please contact Liam on 087 6322618 for more details.
Wednesday: Club night spin leaving from Moynans at 7pm. Avg speed between 25/27kph.
Thursday: Club Turbo training session across from Nenagh Taekwondo in Streame from 7pm -8.30pm. The club has three spare turbo trainers if you would like to give this class a go. This will be a structured training session and please contact Liam on 087 6322618 for more details.
Saturday:
A few club members take part in an intermediate cycle 40/50km in distance, averaging 25kph on a Saturday morning leaving Woodies at 7.30am. Â Anyone who wants to is very welcome to join in on this spin. You can contact William on 086 2447888 for more details.
Normal 9am spin from Woodies carpark: We’ll attempt yet again the planned spin from the last two weekends… and hopefully we won’t have any more storms! Route: Dolla – Templederry – Borrisoleigh – Templemore – Dunkerrin – Moneygall – Toomevara – Dolla – Silvermines – Old N7 – Nenagh. The group can decide on the morning if they want to stop for a coffee at the Obama Plaza (56km). For any of the grroup not looking for the distance they can head back to Nenagh from Toomevara which will make it around 75km. At this time of the year the Saturday spin is no worse than the Senior group spin on a Sunday so for any of our non racers, if you find yourself free on a Sat morning and feel like coming out for a spin in good company, don’t be afraid to turn up and join in! 🙂
Sunday: Usual 9am spin leaving from Moynans. This week we’ll do the route we had planned for last Sunday: Moynans – Roscrea – Milltown – Cloughjordan – Borrisokane – Nenagh 75km.
Have a good week everyone and stay safe on the roads.
