Club Notes / This weeks spins
Hi all, we hope you had a good week.
Tuesday and Thursday evening we had our usual winter turbo training sessions take place and they are going very well with members getting in some very good base training.
Sunday Spins
Numbers were a little bit down this week for our club spin with Christmas been so close, but we still had a good enough turn out on the morning to be able to split into the 2 groups. Below are two reports one from the Orange group and one from the Red group.
Orange group report.
We had 9 members out in the Orange group today the group got broken up a few times out on the road but we slowed down the pace a small bit so that the group could come back together each time, within no time we had reached our Coffee stop in toom. After a lovely rest we headed back out on the road for the return leg of our spin, 3 of the group decided to turned home from Ballinamona cross, another member of the group turned for home at Dolla, I turned home at the Slivermines and 4 continued to go back on N7. All in all it was a good spin.
Thanks for the report Nanno.
Red group report.
Numbers were down across all the three groups this morning. With Christmas so close, it’s unstandable. So a call to bunch everyone from the start was made, which would lead to a split of abilities out on the road. Unfortunately a puncture occurred, soon after we left, which formed our small red group. It was fast and tough, with new targets being set as we rolled through the towns and villages we came across, on our way from nenagh to moneygall (the long way!). I was damn glad of the ceasefire in Obama’s and the implementation of the ”new rule”, thanks for the tea Rob, maybe next week I’ll be the pay master! We rested well, with tales of long ago and not so long ago! A confidentiality agreement was signed before we left for the second half! It was as tiring as the first half, with regrets we think from one solo cyclist from the orange group, who we picked up on the road just before moneygall. Unfortunately a spilt happened at ballinamona cross, as one member remembered her Irish Christmas test, next week! Two went nenagh bound and two went in glory of finishing the designated weekly route, which I can proudly tell you, we made it. Tough morning on the bike. Well done guys, it’s all about the recovery now and keep the hands out of the biscuit tins!
Thanks for another great report Noel.
