Club Notes / This weeks spins
We had a return to our winter turbo training sessions this week and we had a great turnout on both nights. As could be expected on the first night back there were a few bikes and turbos that probably hadn’t seen the light of day in quite a while with a bit of squeaking only adding to the fantastic backing music being provided by Rob… Serious kudos have to go to Peter for riding on rollers in front of the group!!
On Saturday a few of the lads took advantage of the nice afternoon and took in some fine hill training. Some were a little worse for wear after a wedding the day before but they didn’t let that hold them back!! Well done lads.
On Sunday the weather took a turn for the worse with both rain and wind taking their toll but that didn’t stop a fine group of hardy souls from turning up at the carpark. With the poor weather, the leisure turnout was on the small side so the lads tried to keep the group together to the best of their ability but with the weather turning so foul there were people choosing to turn back early at various points along the way. As well as the poor weather the lads had to content with punctures with the first hitting them 3km in, not nice trying to mend a puncture when you’re trying to stay warm on a morning like that! Then another one in Borrisokane with Rob leaving behind his hi-vis sunglasses after repairing the puncture so Noel and Harry went back with him to get them but the three amigos decided to turn back at the old Birr rd(Rule #5 lads!!) into a savage head wind while the rest of the group continued on to Moneygall and returned via the Dublin rd. Overall a tough morning on the bikes but all were glad they braved the weather and got in some great winter miles, well done to all!!

We will also be electing a new committee on the night so we hope to see you all there.
