Club Notes/ This weeks spins

We hope that you all had a good week.

Tuesday night we had the normal club turbo training session that took place in Stereame. We had 13 members there on the evening. A great way to keep up with the winter training.

Wednesday night a couple of members cycled to Moneygall and back to Nenagh, a distance of 40km was covered on the evening.

Thursday evening we had the second instalment of turbo training which is proving very popular. Everyone is welcome to give these classes a try and we have 3 club turbo trainers there for use.

Saturday a few of the lads went mountain biking in Cloughjordan. There was no club road training spin due to the poor weather conditions.

The NTW Awards Night

The NTW Awards Night

Saturday evening we had our annual awards night and it proved to be a big success. A fantastic meal was served up to us in the Thatched cottage and everyone had the chance to mingle and catch up. After the dinner the awards were given to our club members who won races and championship races during the season. Jan white was made an honorary life member of the club and was presented with a beautiful framed certificate as a memento, congratulations Jan. John Caulfield is the first club member to be inducted into our new ” NTW hall of fame” and was also presented with a framed certificate on the evening to mark the occasion, congratulations to you. The new hall of fame will go live to our website in the next few weeks. We would like to thank the Thatched cottage, Ballycommon for their warm hospitality as per usual and the meal was just fantastic. Thanks also to all who helped out on the night to make it a big success. Special thanks to Peter Moynan for taking the photos on the evening and also for the lovely tokens given out at the meal to everyone!

Sunday morning the weather was just horrible, for the second week in a row the weather gods were against us, so there was no club spin. A few members opted to do a turbo session instead at Stereame.  If the weather is bad on a Sunday morning there will be a turbo training session and we have 3 spare club turbos there for anyone who may like to try this session out.
