Club Notes / This weeks spins
We hope that you all enjoyed your week.
On Friday night last the club held its annual Table Quiz in the Dapp Inn, Nenagh. This has always been a great club event over the years and this year again proved very successful. Yet again there were some very testing questions set by our quizmaster, Tom Butler(Thanks Tom!) and also thanks to his lovely wife Ann for doing all the hard work in the background sorting out the scores. A big well done to Neil Gallagher and team who were victorious on the night. We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who donated spot prizes for the evening: Malachy Dorris – Lough Derg Chocolates, Pat Bergin – Nenagh Picture Framing, Selina Hynes – Select Catering, Donal O’Connor – O’Connor’s Supermarket, Kenyon St., J. Moynans bike shop, Walsh’s Stationery, James Kelly of Una Powell’s Pub, Dermot Dolan of Ger Gavins and Pearse Finn of Ryan’s Chemist for 1st and 2nd place prizes. Also another big thank you to our hosts Frank and Susan Maloney of the Dapp Inn, for a most generous donation.
The weather wasn’t kind to us at all this weekend and the majority of members hid inside but there were a few brave souls that ventured out and braved the elements so well done lads and few others that deserted us in search of warmer climes! Our club chairman even made a new friend… 😀 Have a look at the images and see if ye can tell the difference of those that braved the Irish weather and those that didn’t! Hopefully next week won’t be too bad but there is a cold snap forecast so be safe out there!!

All together Pre Season Spin
We are going to hold a season opening all together spin on Sunday Mar 6th to welcome new members to the club and entice others back out of their winter hibernation… This will be a leisurely paced spin so if you’ve any aspiration of using that bike this year give it a dust off and get it ready for this great morning spin. Everyone is most welcome to join this spin on the morning. We’ll do the usual and set off from Moynans at 9am and cycle out the Limerick road to Birdhill and then on to the Lakeside hotel for complimentary Tea/Coffee/Scones before returning to Nenagh via the Four Sisters. We know it’s falling on Mother’s Day but don’t worry, everyone will be back well in time to go out for lunch or whatever you’ve planned. Put this date in your diary, we hope to see a big turnout on the morning.
This week’s Club Training spins are as follows:

Normal club training spin will be leaving from Woodies car park at 9am. The route will be decided on the morning by the group.
Sunday: Usual spin leaving from Moynans bike shop at 9am. We’ll try the route we had planned for last Sunday again this week: Moynans – Borrisokane – Cloughjordan – Moneygall – Toomevara – Dolla – Silvermines – Old N7 – Nenagh 80km. This route has plenty of early escape options for those trying to get back into it so don’t be afraid to get back out and try and get going again!! Winter miles = summer smiles!! 🙂
