Club Notes/ Next weeks club spins

We hope that you all had a great weekend. Here is a little summary of what happened during the week in the club.

Mountain Biking

A few of the lads were out on the mountain bikes during the week where they biked on Coum and also over in Cloughjordan. Pat & Liam did the climb to Tountinna from Coum then on to the Millennium Cross and back which they said was a great experience as they had never done it before. Well done lads.

Saturday a few of the lads were out training and got a good spin in on the morning. They covered a distance of approx 100km.

Sunday Club Spin: We had a fine turnout of 20 members on the morning, with the busy day that was in it everyone took the option of the shorter planned route, a total distance of 71km. The conditions were perfect for cycling and its worth noting that this route has a really good surface with the notable exception of the hill at Knockalton. Each week it continues to impress us how members of the intermediate group are making the step up and are now able to stay with senior group for some or all of the trip which is fantastic. It goes to show how all the hard work over the summer is paying off for everyone. Keep up the good work.

Club AGM and electing of the new 2015/16 Committee.

The meeting will be held as normal in the Dapp Inn on Wednesday, October 28th at 8pm and we will be also electing the new 2015/16 committee so it is very important to attend and we do expect to see a good turnout of members on the night.

Awards Dinner

Its only a few weeks away everyone, our awards night. It will be held in the main function room at the Thatched Cottage, Ballycommon. The dinner starts at 7pm.  We will then enjoy a three course dinner with tea/coffee served afterwards and all for the super price of €25. We decided to have our prize giving earlier this year as we do understand that coming up to Christmas everyone has a lot happening and have other commitments on and might not be able to make it. So there’s no excuses now folks as its in November 🙂 Remember, everyone is welcome to join us on the night so do bring your family and friends along for a fun filled evening.  We do need to know numbers as soon as you possibly can as the restaurant will want to know how many people to cater for which is only fair. Please contact Jan on 087  1374354 to confirm your attendance… Thanks everyone and we look forward to seeing you all very soon 🙂

Intermediate group and Senior group:

Everyone will cycle the same route this week and it will be shorter than normal to accommodate everyone getting home in time to see the Ireland rugby match. It will be decided on the morning where the group split will take place and the route is: Nenagh, Puckane, Terryglass, Carrigahorig, Borrisokane and back to Nenagh. Link to route on Strava.  If that’s not enough for you, an extra loop can be added, for example turning left in Borrisokane on the way home and heading for Cloughjordan before returning to Nenagh will make it about 66km and continuing on further to Moneygall from Cloughjordan before heading back to Nenagh will make it about 78km. This can be decided enroute depending on how everyone is doing for time.
