Club notes

Weather wise it was a cold and damp start to the weekend spins. The Saturday training spin saw the lads take on a nice scenic 100km route which took them from Nenagh, Birdhill, Killaloe, Tuamgraney, Broadford, Castleconnell, Dalys cross and back into Nenagh on the N7. A grand spin before the festivities of Christmas begin.

sunday morning spin 21st dec

On Sunday there was a good group of 19 members out on the roads for our usual morning spin. It was another cool and damp morning but everyone was eager to take on this weeks route which took them from Nenagh through Toomevara, Balinamona, Templederry, Dolla, Silvermines, N7, Four sisters, Ballina, Portroe and back to Nenagh, a grand total of 78km.

The group stayed together until Toomevara but then decided to split into two groups from there. The faster group rode on and did the planned route while others dropped back and joined in with the second group. The route had many turn back points so nobody was ever too far from home. Well done to everyone who made it out on the morning and we hope to see you all again next weekend.

The club has yet again organised another outing to Bike Park Ireland for a day of action packed fun. On Saturday the 27th of December we will meet at 9am at the park. If you don’t have a mountain bike don’t worry as they hire bikes, helmets and all other protective gear required onsite. You can call them on 057 9120080 to arrange. Make sure to bring a few euro with you so you can have some lunch in the cafe. Uplift tokens are available in the cafe and are 2.50 each and for any tokens you don’t use just bring them back at the end of the day and they will refund you your money. If you plan on doing a big day out you can book in online and for €35 you can get unlimited uplifts on the truck. It’s a fun day out guaranteed! 🙂 We hope to see you there as everyone is welcome on the day.

The usual spins will continue again next weekend. Saturday morning 27th Dec, the training spin will leave from Woodies carpark at 9am and on Sunday morning 28th Dec, leaving Moynans at 9am. We will have updates on the routes on our website during the week.

Finally we would like to wish all our club members, followers on our website and on our Facebook page along with your families a very Happy Christmas and all the very best for the New Year 2015. Enjoy the festivities!!christmas wishes
