Club Notes
It’s great to finally be back!
First, on behalf of the committee I want to thank all members for being so patient with regards to Covid 19 restrictions and for adhering to the government guidelines. It is important that we continue to follow the advice in order to keep the virus under control, while still getting out on our bikes and enjoying the sport.
On June 30th we had our first spin back together. On Thursday 2nd July a good gang took to the roads. Unfortunately the weather didn’t hold up for the Sunday spin, however 5 brave cyclists headed out in windy conditions and managed 64km! Thankfully the weather stayed dry for the week of the 6th of July and we had 2 great spins out on Tuesday and Thursday. On Sunday, 17 riders took to the roads and enjoyed a well-earned coffee in Loughmore! Tuesday evening the limerick league returned for its second week back and 2 NTW members – Patrick Yon Hin and myself joined in the action – and yes I’ll say it – congratulations to me on my second place – reckon it’s the first and last time I’ll get to say that! Thursday evening the weather was fabulous and 11 riders headed to Co. Clare in the sunshine. Hopefully these fine evenings will last a while longer and we will continue seeing good numbers on the spin!
Update for the coming weeks:
Tuesday evening 6.30pm spin leaving Moynan’s bike shop (28-32km/hr average)// limerick league 7pm start
Thursday evening 6.30pm spin leaving Moynan’s bike shop (28-32km/hr average)
Sunday morning 9am spin leaving Moynan’s bike shop (2 groups 23-26km/hr average and 28-32km/hr average)
Note:
- If you’re cycling with us we ask you to review the government guidelines and the Cycling Ireland Covid 19 guidelines prior to the spins
- If you’re interested in doing the limerick league look up Limerick CC for the instructions on preregistration and Covid 19 guidelines
The last few weeks were eventful and we’re looking forward to the next few weeks!
