Club notes
It was great so many club members turned out for the Saturday and the Sunday morning spins over the weekend despite the bitterly cold and damp conditions. On Saturday 6th December the race group departed from Woodies car park as usual at 9am. This week saw the lads take on a nice scenic 110km spin that took them to Toomevara, Dunkerrin, Shinrone, Cloughjordan, Borrisokane, Balinderry, and back to Nenagh over the rolling hills via Puckane. One lucky club member was testing out a new bike(always nice!!! 🙂 ) on the morning only the peddles were misbehaving giving the rest of the group some entertainment… Another member who was working all week in Holland even made it in to the morning training spin, so fair play. All in all everyone enjoyed the spin and got in some good base miles in the legs.
On Sunday 7th December we saw eleven hardy souls out on what was a bitterly cold and damp morning. The group all cycled to Toomevara, Ballinamona, Dolla, then on to the Silvermines where the group split. The faster group turned off and did the Shalee climb continued on to Newport, Castleconnell, then back to Nenagh on the N7. A good 95km spin for them on the morning. The leisure group continued on to the main Limerick road from the Silvermines where they then headed back to Nenagh on the N7. A good 49km spin. Well done to everyone who made the effort and came out at the weekend to cycle its not always easy to drag yourself out of a lovely warm house on these cold mornings. In the attached picture from left to right we have Kieran Murray, John Spillane, Peter Moynan, Eva Moynan, Bernard Fahy, Eoin Woods, Geraldine Spillane, Cathy McLoughlin, Pat Bergin and Joey Donnelly.
