Club Notes 12th July / Next weeks schedule

Another good week was had by all out on the bikes this week with everyone well recovered from last weeks trip to the Kingdom!

The usual midweek training spins were completed and on Thursday we had the re-run of our 30km Road Race 8 which thankfully went by with a lot less excitement! 🙂 It was John Foote and Stuart Witts who started first and managed to stay away for the whole race who proved to be joint victors on the evening as they couldn’t be split crossing the line. Third across the line was Owen Hynes. You can read the full report here.

On Sunday we had a good turnout for the scheduled spins considering so many are away on holidays at the moment and with Tipperary taking on Waterford in the Munster Final in Thurles. We had 5 take on the senior spin and seven take the intermediate route. The weather remained kind enough with only a few showers on the way around but there was a fine breeze to sap the energy on the way back. The senior group stopped off for a bite to eat in Borrisokane where they were soon joined by the folks on the intermediate spin. One of the lads on the intermediate route decided to join in with the seniors on the tough rolling hills from there through Ballinderry and back by Puckane. He did very well and hung on well the whole way back to Nenagh so a huge well done to him and it’s great to see another member making the jump across. All in all a great spin was enjoyed by everyone on the morning.

Meanwhile also on Sunday in Tralee club member Eoin Woods took part in the Manor West GP open race and took 5th place in the A4 race so a huge well done to Eoin for taking 4 more points home! Great stuff altogether!!
